The New York Knicks announced Thursday that they are pausing individual ticket sales for the 2026-27 season after a pricing error resulted in tickets being listed for amounts that were too high.
The NBA champions put individual game tickets on sale this week. The get-in price for the October 20 season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers had climbed above $1,000.
“A mistake in our pricing”
Madison Square Garden Sports addressed the situation in a statement:
“We are pausing Knicks individual ticket sales due to a mistake in our pricing. We are rolling back to last year’s prices plus an average increase of 12%. We will restart sales with new prices shortly, and anyone who already purchased individual tickets will be refunded the difference.”
The Knicks generally increase ticket prices following seasons in which the team reaches the playoffs. Owner James Dolan has not raised prices when New York misses the postseason.

MSG also apologized to fans for the issue:
“Our intention was never to overcharge our loyal fans, and we thank everyone for their support of the Knicks and their patience as we get this right.”
