LeBron James will earn $15 million per year from his controversial endorsement deal with Polymarket, a figure far greater than the $3.9 million he will receive from the Philadelphia 76ers next season.
According to FrontOfficeSports, The Chosen One is not an investor in the well-known prediction market platform, which covers virtually anything, including NBA games, but will serve exclusively as an endorser.
James will reportedly focus his promotional work on football rather than basketball.
The deal has sparked controversy, particularly because of the type of business James has chosen to associate his image with.
Haralabos Voulgaris, the well-known gambler who spent time in the Mavericks’ front office, did not hold back in criticizing James:
“$15 million to help get a generation of kids hooked on gambling is a choice. LeShame.”
