The NBA expansion process is moving into a more advanced stage. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the next round of Las Vegas bids is due Thursday, with final proposals expected shortly afterward.
Offers for a Las Vegas franchise could reach or exceed $10 billion, while Seattle proposals may be valued around $7 billion. Adam Silver confirmed that several groups remain involved but stressed that expansion has not yet been formally approved.
The NBA aims to make a decision by the end of 2026, with potential new teams targeted to begin play in 2028-29. Seattle would bring back the SuperSonics, while Las Vegas would become an NBA market for the first time.
