Jalen Duren reportedly feels increasingly confident about accepting the Detroit Pistons’ $9.6 million qualifying offer. According to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer, Duren has learned that Sacramento could be prepared to offer him a maximum contract next offseason.

Duren has until October 1 to decide. Taking the one-year offer would make him an unrestricted free agent in 2027, while Detroit continues to pursue a long-term agreement. The Pistons have reportedly offered approximately $190 million over five years, with Duren seeking at least $200 million.

The All-NBA Third Team center is also said to be unhappy with the way negotiations have been handled. Duren averaged 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds last season while shooting 65% from the field.
