Steve Ballmer’s acceptance of the NBA’s penalties has not yet reopened talks between the Clippers and Toronto

Kawhi Leonard’s proposed trade to the Toronto Raptors remains stalled despite Steve Ballmer accepting the NBA’s penalties and ruling out legal action. According to Jake Fischer, the Clippers are not yet ready to resume discussions with Toronto.

Los Angeles still has to appoint an interim governor during Ballmer’s one-year suspension. However, that is not considered a formal obstacle, as the NBA would reportedly be prepared to approve the transaction without an interim governor in place.

The June 30 agreement would send Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, two first-round picks, one pick swap and two second-round picks to the Clippers. Leonard has already attended Toronto’s retreat in Miami but remains limited to individual workouts until the deal becomes official.
