Ettore Messina could soon return to the NBA after the conclusion of his long tenure on the bench of Olimpia Milano. According to Repubblica, the coach is reportedly set to join the Atlanta Hawks’ staff as a technical consultant.
Messina already has two NBA experiences on his résumé, with the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs. In Atlanta, he would also reunite with Quin Snyder, who was his assistant during their time together at CSKA Moscow.
According to the newspaper, the role should not require Messina to be permanently based in the United States. The coach is expected to split his time between Atlanta and Italy, while also working as a TV analyst for Sky.
