Umana Reyer Venezia officially signs Erick Green

The American guard strengthens Venezia’s backcourt following Sir’Jabari Rice’s foot injury. Casarin: “We secured a high-level player”

Umana Reyer Venezia has officially signed Erick Green. The 1991-born American guard, who played for Cantù last season, joins the club following the serious foot injury suffered by Sir’Jabari Rice.

The NCAA’s leading scorer with Virginia Tech in 2012-13, Green played in the NBA for the Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz. His European career includes spells with Olympiacos, Valencia and Fenerbahçe, as well as a EuroLeague Final appearance in 2017.

“We reacted quickly by returning to the market after Rice’s injury,” president Federico Casarin said. “Erick strengthens an already competitive roster and confirms the club’s ambition to be a leading team.”
