Patrick Beverley: “I turned down $50 million from Kings to stay with Clippers”

Patrick Beverley has recalled the contract negotiations that preceded his departure from the Los Angeles Clippers.

“I signed a three-year, $40 million contract with the Clippers. I turned down three years and $50 million from Sacramento just to stay,” Beverley said on the Thanalysis Show.

Beverley also revealed that he contacted Kawhi Leonard to help unlock a later negotiation. However, the Clippers’ need to involve his teammate convinced him that it was time to leave the franchise.
