Colangelo and Mullin join BC Roma
BC Roma has announced the addition of Bryan Colangelo and Chris Mullin to the club’s Advisory Board, adding two prominent figures from American basketball to a group bringing together expertise from both sides of the Atlantic.
The move is part of BC Roma’s long-term project to connect Rome with the highest levels of international basketball.
Colangelo and Mullin join Valerio Bianchini, BC Roma’s Honorary President, and Sergio Scariolo, Special Advisor for Basketball Strategy.
The Advisory Board will provide strategic advice to the club’s leadership in areas including roster construction, talent identification, organizational development and basketball philosophy, drawing on extensive experience in the NBA and international basketball.
Bryan Colangelo joins BC Roma
A two-time NBA Executive of the Year, Bryan Colangelo brings decades of experience at the highest levels of professional basketball.
He held prominent executive roles with the Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers, gaining extensive experience in basketball and business, organizational and facility development, and building competitive teams.
“I’m truly excited to join such an experienced and prestigious group of basketball professionals, many of whom I competed against over the years, as we take on the ambitious challenge of building a world-class organization for a world-class city like Rome,” Colangelo said.
“With the season just around the corner and European basketball going through a period of profound evolution, I truly believe there is a unique opportunity to build something important and lasting here that basketball fans in Rome and throughout Europe can be proud of.”

Chris Mullin joins the project
A member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Chris Mullin brings a career developed at the highest levels of basketball as a player, executive and coach.
A five-time NBA All-Star and two-time Olympic gold medalist, Mullin was part of the legendary 1992 U.S. “Dream Team” and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011.
After his playing career, Mullin spent five years as Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations with the Golden State Warriors and later served as a Senior Advisor to the Sacramento Kings.
He subsequently returned to St. John’s University, where he had played college basketball, as head coach.
“Basketball has given me so much throughout my life, and the opportunity to be part of a new project like BC Roma is truly exciting,” Mullin said.
“Italy has a great basketball culture and an authentic passion for the sport, and Rome is an extraordinary place to build something special. I look forward to supporting the club, sharing my experience and helping BC Roma develop an identity that both players and fans can truly identify with.”
Building a bridge between Italian and international basketball
The additions of Colangelo and Mullin further strengthen an Advisory Board that already features two major figures in Italian and European basketball.
Valerio Bianchini, Honorary President of BC Roma, represents a direct link to the history and culture of Italian basketball and to the city of Rome.
Sergio Scariolo, Special Advisor for Basketball Strategy, brings his extensive experience at the highest levels of European and international competition.
Together, the members of the Advisory Board will support BC Roma’s leadership in developing the club’s long-term sporting, organizational and strategic vision.
