There is positive news from Zalgiris Kaunas regarding Jonas Valanciunas’ condition. After leaving the court in the first quarter of the preseason game against Baku Sabah, the Lithuanian center was kept on the bench purely as a precaution.
Head coach Tomas Masiulis provided an update after Zalgiris’ convincing 112-78 victory. He explained that Valanciunas would have been able to continue playing, but the coaching staff preferred not to take any chances. The injury is only a leg bruise and does not appear to be serious at this stage. Further tests will nevertheless be carried out to assess his condition more precisely.
