Andrew Wiggins is among those most excited within the Miami Heat about the arrival of Klay Thompson, his former teammate with the Golden State Warriors.

The 31-year-old Canadian wing was one of the key pieces in the supporting cast around the ‘Splash Brothers’ during the Warriors’ 2022 NBA championship run.

“Klay? He’s one of the most competitive people I’ve ever played with. To have him back on the team with me is going to be amazing. He’s truly one of one. He brings that championship mentality, and that’s why I feel like next season is one where we can do something special. Klay Thompson can play a big role in helping us achieve our goals.”

Wiggins signed a new contract with the Heat during the offseason, keeping him in Miami through 2029 in a deal worth approximately $64 million overall.

The Heat also shared a video yesterday showing Thompson’s first day in Miami, with the guard immediately asking about the franchise record for three-pointers made in a single season…
