Greek federation reports suspected illegal funding of GBL club

Greek Basketball Federation president Vangelis Liolios has informed the federation’s board about evidence concerning alleged illegal funding worth several thousand euros received by a Stoiximan GBL club.

According to Athletiko, the money was transferred from Asia. The federation will forward the available material to the sports prosecutor, the Greek tax authority and the agency responsible for investigating money laundering.

The identity of the club has not been disclosed. The report states that Panathinaikos, Olympiacos, PAOK, AEK and Aris are not involved. The allegations remain subject to investigation.
