Jason Burnell reflected on his career in an interview with Olimpia Milano’s YouTube channel, identifying his father as the biggest influence on his development. “He gave me toughness and taught me to always play hard. It’s not about your position, but how you impact winning.”
Burnell’s relationship with Peppe Poeta
“I love Coach Poeta. He creates good vibes, brings energy and gives you confidence,” Burnell said. “He was the first coach who truly believed in me as a power forward. He trusted me and that changed my career. I’ll be forever grateful to him.”
After describing Italy as “more home than America,” Burnell discussed reaching the EuroLeague. “That was my goal when I came to Europe. Olimpia brought out the best in me as an opponent and continues to do so now. My expectations? Winning. I only care about winning.”
