Peyton Watson said goodbye to the Denver Nuggets in an emotional message posted on Instagram. “Thank you for having me for the first four years of my career. You guys took care of me better than I could have ever imagined,” the 23-year-old wrote.
Watson thanked the ownership group, coaches and former teammates. He called Aaron Gordon his “big brother” and also expressed his gratitude to Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray for supporting him both on and off the court.
The forward will continue his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers after moving in a five-team sign-and-trade. Watson signed a four-year, $88 million contract following a season in which he averaged 14.6 points and 4.9 rebounds.
