Barcelona has officially announced the signing of Yoan Makoundou. According to the Catalan club, the French big man has agreed to a contract running through June 30, 2028.
The 2.07-meter, 26-year-old arrives from AS Monaco after previous experiences with Cholet, Buducnost, Turk Telekom and the Fujian Sturgeons. He averaged 6.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and a 7.6 PIR across five EuroLeague appearances last season.
The French international will bring energy, athleticism and versatility to Aleksander Sekulic’s team. As Barcelona highlighted in its official announcement, Makoundou can cover multiple frontcourt positions and still has significant room for development.
