Max Menetti returns to the bench as he joined PAOK: “I couldn’t have asked for anything better”

Back on the bench after LBA TV experience

After spending last season away from coaching while working with LBA TV, Max Menetti is ready to return to the sidelines.

The former Pallacanestro Reggiana coach will join Andrea Trinchieri’s staff at PAOK Thessaloniki, a move he is extremely happy with.

“I’m very happy. I’m joining an important project with a new and ambitious ownership group. I really couldn’t have asked for anything better. Working with LBA TV was a great experience, but I wanted to get back to coaching.”

An ambitious new ownership group

Menetti also spoke highly of PAOK’s new ownership, led by Aristotelis Mistakidis, highlighting an approach that differs from the usual stereotype surrounding Greek basketball owners.

“Our owner is completely different: calm, willing to listen and learn, and above all he has a broad, long-term vision for basketball.”

Mistakidis’ experience in Italy is another positive factor. He lived in the country for six years and speaks Italian fluently, something Menetti believes can be particularly useful when working together as a team.

Reunited with Trinchieri

Menetti will once again work alongside Andrea Trinchieri, with whom he previously shared an important chapter at Žalgiris Kaunas.

“We experienced some great moments together at Žalgiris and won trophies. Having his trust confirmed again is priceless.”

The pair now reunite in Thessaloniki, with PAOK aiming to build an ambitious project around their experience and basketball knowledge.
