The Cleveland Cavaliers are trading Dennis Schroder and cash to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Tre Mann, ESPN’s Shams Charania reports. The deal had been in the works for the past couple of months, with the two teams and Schroder’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, working on the trade.
For Charlotte, the move brings in an established veteran point guard with a connection to Hornets president Jeff Peterson and head coach Charles Lee. Schroder previously worked with both during his early-career stint with the Atlanta Hawks.
For Cleveland, the trade provides additional roster flexibility and tax savings, allowing the Cavaliers to continue pursuing moves while remaining comfortably below the second apron.
