Maxima Roma has announced the signing of Giovanni Veronesi. The Italian guard, born in 1998, will play for the Roman club during the 2026/27 season.
An energetic and physically strong player, Veronesi can play both shooting guard and small forward. Alongside his athletic ability, he brings defensive intensity, a strong work ethic and an excellent three-point shot. His versatility and ability to make an impact at both ends of the floor will be valuable assets for head coach Cotelli and his staff.
Veronesi developed through the youth system of Blu Orobica Bergamo before beginning his professional career with Iseo and Bergamo. He subsequently played for Virtus Brescia, JuVi Cremona, Fortitudo Agrigento, Latina, Mantova and Piacenza.
In 2024/25, he reached Serie A with Dinamo Sassari, also making his European debut in the Basketball Champions League and FIBA Europe Cup. The following season, he joined Vanoli Cremona, averaging 9.7 points per game.
On February 27, 2026, Veronesi also made his debut for the Italian senior national team.
“I’m extremely happy to start this new chapter with Maxima Roma. A stimulating journey awaits me, especially with my EuroCup debut. It’s a competition I have never played in and it will be an important step in my development. I’m really excited for the start of the season, I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and give everything I have on the court to help the team,” Veronesi said.
Maxima Roma adds an experienced Italian player who is entering an important stage of his career and is ready for a new challenge on the EuroCup stage.
