ASVEL Villeurbanne continue to lose pieces. The latest departure is Thomas Weiler-Babb, who has officially joined Crvena Zvezda, bringing an end to his time in France before it had effectively even begun.
The German wing joins Sylvain Francisco, who moved to Panathinaikos via a buyout, Daniel Theis, who joined Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Armoni Brooks, who was loaned to Valencia for the upcoming season. This series of departures is linked to the club’s financial difficulties, with ASVEL now operating on a significantly lower budget than expected just a few weeks ago.
Meanwhile, Joel Bolomboy’s future remains unresolved. The big man initially appeared likely to follow the other players away from Villeurbanne, but the current intention is for him to remain with ASVEL.
