Trendon Watford is nearing a move to Europe. According to Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews, Valencia Basket are in advanced talks to sign the 25-year-old American forward, who became a free agent after the Philadelphia 76ers declined the team option on the second year of his contract.
Watford, listed at 2.03 meters, has appeared in 270 NBA games with the Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 7.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 17 minutes per game. Last season in Philadelphia, he posted 6.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 16 minutes, highlighted by a 20-point, 17-rebound and 10-assist triple-double against the Toronto Raptors.
His best NBA season came with the Brooklyn Nets in 2024-25, when he averaged 10.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 21 minutes. Undrafted in 2021, Watford earned a standard NBA contract with Portland after starting his career on a two-way deal and won the 2022 NBA Summer League with the Blazers, earning Championship Game MVP honors.
