Tyrese Maxey reportedly played a major role in bringing LeBron James to the Philadelphia 76ers. According to Chris Haynes, Maxey was “relentless” in his recruitment, repeatedly calling and texting James while offering to answer any questions about the Sixers.
Maxey also made it clear that he would be willing to sacrifice parts of his game to help LeBron fit into the team. Rich Paul believes Philadelphia could energize his client, saying: “Maybe we get two. Maybe we get four,” when asked how many seasons James might play for the Sixers.
James has already made a historic commercial impact. His jersey reportedly became the best-selling jersey ever during the first 48 hours following a team change, surpassing the record set by Shohei Ohtani after joining the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2023.
