Willy Hernangomez agrees to join Unicaja Malaga on a one-year deal

Willy Hernangomez has reportedly reached an agreement with Unicaja Malaga on a one-year contract. According to Diario Sur, the Spanish center will continue his career in his home country after Barcelona decided not to extend his contract during its rebuilding process.

Hernangomez accepted Unicaja’s offer after turning down two other proposals, including one from PAOK. The 32-year-old big man will replace Aleksander Balcerowski, who recently joined Barcelona.

The approval of coach Txus Vidorreta was also crucial, as the two previously worked together with the Spanish national team at EuroBasket 2015 and the Rio Olympics.
