Zalgiris Kaunas are reportedly close to signing Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu, the Nigerian center currently under contract with BAXI Manresa.
According to Spanish journalist Chema de Lucas, Zalgiris will have to pay a buyout fee to Cedevita Olimpija, who signed the player this summer. Akobundu-Ehiogu has an EuroLeague exit clause valid until the end of the month.
In the Liga ACB, he averaged 4.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, shooting 81.6% from the field in 13 minutes per contest. He also featured for the Dallas Mavericks during this year’s NBA Summer League, averaging 6.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and one block in five appearances.
