Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv is pleased to announce the extension of Tomer Ginat’s contract for the next four years, through the end of the 2029/30 season.
Ginat, one of the most important icons in the club’s history, will continue to wear the red jersey for years to come and lead the team both on and off the court. Upon the expiration of his new contract, Tomer will have completed eight years under his current tenure, in addition to the four years of his first spell with the club, for a total of 12 years wearing the Hapoel jersey—a figure that more than anything illustrates the special bond between the player and the organization.
During his years with Hapoel, Ginat has been at the center of some of the most memorable moments in the club’s history. He won the EuroCup with the team, averaging 8.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists, while shooting 65.4% from two-point range. That triumph secured the club’s historic promotion to the EuroLeague, where Ginat averaged 3.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 0.4 assists, shooting 59.4% from two-point range, helping the team reach the playoffs.
Beyond his on-court achievements, Tomer represents everything Hapoel Tel Aviv strives to embody: uncompromising commitment, leadership, passion, character, and fighting spirit. He grew with the club, stood by it through difficult times, led it to its greatest achievements, and over the years has become one of the figures most closely identified with the red colors.
