Draymond Green expected to re-sign with Warriors for $28 million

Draymond Green is expected to remain with the Golden State Warriors. According to Joe Vardon and David Aldridge of The Athletic, the franchise is set to turn its focus to re-signing the veteran forward after missing out on LeBron James.

Green is expected to re-sign at a figure close to the $28 million player option he opted out of at the beginning of the offseason. His return had always been considered the most likely scenario, but Golden State kept flexibility while waiting for LeBron’s decision.

After James chose to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, Mike Dunleavy Jr. can now work on bringing back Green, re-signing De’Anthony Melton and filling out the rest of the roster. For the Warriors, a new phase of the offseason begins after weeks of waiting.
