After signing with Olimpia Milano, the point guard will remain on loan at Apu Udine for the 2026/27 season and has shared how the move came about.

Andrea Calzavara has signed with Olimpia Milano, but he will continue his development with Apu Udine during the 2026/27 season, remaining with the club on loan. Speaking during a live stream with SpazioOlimpiaMilano, the 2001-born point guard reflected on how the move to the Italian powerhouse took shape and the emotions he experienced while making his decision.

Looking back at the transfer rumors linking him with Milano, Calzavara admitted that he initially did not pay much attention to them: “People were talking, but every day there are rumors involving so many players.”

Once Olimpia’s interest became a concrete offer, however, he began to seriously consider his future, especially since other teams were also pursuing him: “The call actually came, and I kept thinking about it because there were other teams interested as well.”

His agent also played a key role in helping him weigh the opportunity: “In the end, my agent helped me focus on what really mattered and told me that this kind of train only comes once.”

That advice ultimately removed any doubts, leading him to accept Milano’s proposal without hesitation: “There wasn’t much to think about.” A statement that perfectly captures the significance of the opportunity and why joining Olimpia Milano felt like the obvious choice at this stage of his career.
