“What a Beautiful Journey
After so many years dedicated to this sport, the time has come to say goodbye to a chapter that defined my life.
Basketball gave me so much more than a profession. It allowed me to fulfill the dream I had as a little boy, chasing a ball through the streets and courts of Uruguay with it tucked under my arm. It taught me to enjoy the good moments, overcome the difficult ones, and never stop believing.
Today, I want to thank every club that believed in me and gave me the opportunity to wear its colors.
First and foremost, Estudiantes, the club that opened its doors to me when I was just 15 years old, where this beautiful journey began.
Also, thank you to Unicaja, Anadolu Efes, Baskonia, ALBA Berlin, Reyer Venezia, and Peñarol of Uruguay. Thank you for everything you taught me, for helping me grow as a player, as a professional, and above all, as a person. I leave with memories, friendships, and lessons that will stay with me forever.
Thank you as well to everyone who was part of this journey: teammates, coaches, coaching staffs, doctors, physiotherapists, managers, and fans. Without you, this journey would not have been the same.
To my agents, Regino Olivares and Guillermo Bermejo, thank you for standing by me throughout so many years and for becoming great friends.
And above all, thank you to my family.
Especially to my wife, Milena, for walking this path beside me. Thank you for your love, for supporting me through the difficult moments, for celebrating the good ones, and for always being by my side.
And to my children, Jann and Conor, for reminding me every day of what truly matters. You are, without a doubt, my greatest victory.
Now it’s time to say goodbye to the court.
I leave with a full heart, at peace, and grateful for having lived far more than that little boy could ever have imagined.
