The Sacramento Kings reportedly do not want Russell Westbrook back for next season. According to Jake Fischer, as relayed by NBACentral, the California franchise is expected to move in a different direction.
Westbrook played the 2025/26 season with Sacramento, appearing in 64 games. The veteran averaged 15.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 29.1 minutes per game, shooting 50% from two-point range and 33.8% from three.
Despite still posting strong numbers, Westbrook’s future appears to be away from the Kings. His situation now becomes another NBA market storyline to monitor as the former MVP looks for the next chapter of his career.
