Maxima Roma is targeting Sergio Scariolo for its head coaching position. According to Fabrizio Fabbri of Corriere dello Sport, the club linked to the Brescia relocation is working to define its technical staff after receiving approval from the FIP Federal Council.
Ettore Messina was reportedly the first choice, but that option has faded. The focus has now shifted to Scariolo, who was recently released by Real Madrid and would represent a high-profile international name for the new Rome project.
The newspaper notes that the two clubs set to represent Rome in Serie A are still under construction. On the other side, Roma SPQR is waiting to officially appoint Igor Milicic as head coach, while Nico Mannion has been announced as the first signing.
