The veteran center returns to the market before his $10 million salary became fully guaranteed

The Denver Nuggets are waiving Jonas Valanciunas, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype added that the move came before the veteran center’s $10 million salary became fully guaranteed.

Per Bobby Marks, Denver will carry a $2 million cap hit and can elect to stretch that amount over three seasons. If the Nuggets do so, they would be $7.4 million below the second apron.

Valanciunas, a 14-year NBA veteran, owns career averages of 12.8 points and 9.0 rebounds. Charania reported that the Lithuanian big man is expected to receive interest from multiple NBA teams.
