Donovan Mitchell has agreed to a four-year, $273 million maximum contract extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Shams Charania reported the agreement, citing CAA’s Austin Brown.
The new deal includes a player option for the 2030-31 season and a full trade kicker. Mitchell could have waited until next summer to pursue an additional fifth season worth around $80 million, but chose to commit early.
After leading Cleveland to the Eastern Conference Finals, the seven-time All-Star has now secured his long-term future with the franchise. Owner Dan Gilbert and president of basketball operations Koby Altman quickly reached terms with Mitchell and his agent.
