2027 World Cup European Qualifiers Second Round lineup set

Italy will play in Group J with Türkiye, Serbia, Lithuania, Iceland and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the road to Qatar 2027

FIBA has confirmed the 24-team field for the Second Round of the European Qualifiers for the 2027 Basketball World Cup. After the First Round, the field has been reduced from 32 to 24 teams, with Estonia, Latvia, Slovenia and Sweden the last nations to advance.

The qualified teams will now be divided into four groups of six, with all First Round results carrying over. Italy have been placed in Group J alongside Türkiye, Serbia, Lithuania, Iceland and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Second Round will be played across three windows: August 2026, November 2026 and February 2027. The top three teams from each group will qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027, scheduled for August 27 to September 12, 2027 in Qatar.

Group I: Spain, Montenegro, Ukraine, Georgia, Greece, Portugal

Group J: Türkiye, Italy, Serbia, Lithuania, Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Group K: Poland, Croatia, Germany, Israel, Netherlands, Latvia

Group L: Finland, France, Hungary, Estonia, Sweden, Slovenia
