According to The Athletic, Denver remains open to a possible sign-and-trade

The Denver Nuggets intend to match any offers for restricted free agent Peyton Watson once the NBA moratorium lifts on Monday. The Athletic reported the news, citing league sources.

Negotiations between Denver and Watson’s agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group, remain apart. For that reason, the Nuggets are also open to the possibility of a sign-and-trade involving the 23-year-old forward, the No. 30 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Watson is coming off the best season of his career, averaging 14.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 blocks in 29.6 minutes per game. Before suffering a hamstring injury, he had a strong stretch after Nikola Jokic went down, averaging 22.5 points over 17 games.
