Kristaps Porziņģis has agreed to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors on a two-year, $40 million deal, according to The Athletic.
The second year of the contract will be a player option. Porziņģis joined the Warriors from the Atlanta Hawks just before February’s trade deadline in a deal involving Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield.
During his short stint with Golden State, Porziņģis averaged 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds, appearing in only 15 games for the franchise.
Availability remains the key question. The 30-year-old has played just 122 games over the last three seasons. If he can stay healthy, his outside shooting and defensive length could be a major boost next to Stephen Curry.
