Trey Lyles is leaving Real Madrid after just one season, confirming his departure with a message on social media.

“Madrid has been great, but it’s time. A great experience here. I appreciate the love from all Madridistas,” Lyles wrote. Real Madrid had limited chances to keep him, as the player’s main goal is reportedly to return to the NBA.

According to Marca, Lyles also drew major interest from Hapoel Tel Aviv, Dubai Basketball and Fenerbahce, with offers above €3 million gross. He averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 15.1 PIR in EuroLeague.
