Real Madrid, Sergio Rodriguez announces resignation from sporting director role

Sergio Rodriguez has announced his resignation from his role leading the sports department of Real Madrid’s basketball section.

In a message posted on social media, the former guard said he had informed the president of his decision: “After deep reflection, this afternoon I communicated to the president my decision to end my time leading the sports department of our basketball section.”

Rodriguez thanked the club for the opportunity: “I sincerely thanked him for the opportunity and trust received during this season.” He added that he had enjoyed every moment with passion, aiming to build a stronger, more sustainable and professional section.

“I leave with pride in the work done, great learnings and the satisfaction of having found a profession I am passionate about,” Rodriguez wrote, wishing Real Madrid the best success in the future.
