During a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, super-agent Rich Paul discussed the future of his most famous client, LeBron James.
“There has been incoming calls from teams with the excitement of LeBron James playing for them,” Paul said. “Considering he’s 41-42 years old, that’s something to be proud of. Without naming names, I can say that around 10 to 12 teams have called me to talk about LeBron.”
The NBA’s all-time leading scorer finished the 2025-26 regular season averaging 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. In 10 playoff appearances, he raised his production to 23.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest.
James was also recently named “Athlete of the Century” by TIME Magazine.
Asked about the possibility of retirement, LeBron made it clear that his decision will depend more on motivation than on age.
“It’s up to the mind,” James said. “Where the mind goes, the body will follow. When I’m no longer excited about getting to the arena five hours before a game to begin my preparation, when I don’t feel like arriving two and a half hours early for practice anymore, then I’ll know I’m done. Because at that point, I’d be cheating the game.”
