Tension erupted in New York after Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs.
On Monday night, clashes broke out between fans and police near Bryant Park, which had been turned into a special viewing area with big screens for around 5,000 Knicks supporters.
The alternative gathering was arranged after authorities banned large crowds outside Madison Square Garden for security reasons, with president Donald Trump attending the game. The unrest reportedly began around 11 p.m., when the crowd left the park, flooded nearby streets and blocked traffic.
