The Greek club announced a three-year agreement with the head coach of the Greek national team

Vassilis Spanoulis is officially the new head coach of Aris Betsson. The Thessaloniki club announced an agreement with the Greek coach for the next three years.

Spanoulis, born on August 7, 1982, is also the head coach of the Greek national team and was one of the greatest European basketball players of all time. He began his coaching career in 2022 with Peristeri, leading the team to the Basketball Champions League Final Four in 2024 and earning Coach of the Season honors.

In November 2024, he took over Monaco, guiding the club to the EuroLeague Final Four and the final before leaving in March 2026. With Greece, he won bronze at EuroBasket 2025, the national team’s first medal in a major competition since 2009.
