Sergio Scariolo after the final: “We did much more than people expected”

Real Madrid fell just short of the EuroLeague title, losing the final to Olympiacos. Speaking in the mixed zone, Sergio Scariolo praised his team’s run and stressed how proud he was of a group that reached the championship game against most expectations.

“Winning the EuroLeague is a dream, an ambition,” Scariolo said after the loss. The Italian coach added: “We have clearly shown that we did much more than what people expected us to do.”

For Scariolo, the final came down to small margins: “The game was decided by small details, we missed a three-pointer to tie it.” He then praised his players: “I am very proud of the game we played, nobody saw us here at full strength.”
