According to BasketNews, the June 16 meeting should clarify the final number of participants and provide a preliminary list of clubs. Formal approval would then come during the July meeting.

The main issue concerns JL Bourg-en-Bresse, the EuroCup champion. Within the EuroLeague ecosystem, there is a widespread belief that the club may decline promotion due to financial limitations, remaining in EuroCup under the new 3+2 license structure.

Bourg’s decision is also important for AS Monaco, which is working to bring in new investors to strengthen its financial structure and support its bid for a long-term EuroLeague license.
