Olympiacos’ Bartzokas explains Vezenkov absence: “We did not want to risk him”

Sasha Vezenkov did not play for Olympiacos in the road win over Kolossos Rhodes due to a minor calf issue.

Coach Georgios Bartzokas explained that the player felt discomfort in the gastrocnemius, despite practicing normally the previous day. The staff therefore decided not to take any risk.

“Vezenkov had a small discomfort in the gastrocnemius. He practiced normally yesterday, but because it persisted and it is a tricky area, we preferred not to risk anything,” Bartzokas said.

The coach added that Vezenkov could have played and will practice normally. Olympiacos now turns its focus to the EuroLeague Final Four against Fenerbahce.
