Sergi Martínez will continue with Bàsquet Girona. The captain, who joined the club on loan in the 2023/24 season, has signed a two-year extension through 2028, remaining one of the key pieces of the project.
This season, Martínez is averaging 7.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 27 games, with an average rating of 8.9. His best performance came at Fontajau against La Laguna Tenerife, with 20 points, 7 rebounds and a 27 PIR.
Fernando San Emeterio said Martínez “has identified strongly with the club and the city”. The sporting director added that he represents “many of the values” Girona want in the team and that “his ceiling is still to come”.
