Dreamland Gran Canaria has signed Brandon Jefferson (Flower Mound, Texas, USA, 1991) for the remainder of the season. The American point guard arrives from AS Karditsas, where he completed the regular season last Saturday.
After playing college basketball at Metropolitan State University of Denver in NCAA Division II, Jefferson began his professional career in the 2013–14 season with KTP Basket Kotka in Finland. Following a stint there and another with Phoenix Hagen in Germany, he competed in the Adriatic League and EuroLeague with KK Union Olimpija during the 2016–17 season.
Since then, Jefferson has played for eight more teams: Trapani, Orléans, Strasbourg, Pau-Orthez, Tianjin Pioneers, Dinamo Sassari, JL Bourg and AS Karditsas. Throughout his career, he has stood out for his scoring ability, averaging 17.2 points with Strasbourg and 18.6 points in the Chinese league.
This season, he averaged 15.3 points, 3.7 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game in the Greek league. In his final appearance with AS Karditsas last Saturday, he recorded 12 points and 4 assists in a loss that ended the team’s season. He also posted averages of 15.7 points and 4.8 assists in 13 Basketball Champions League games.
Jefferson is expected to arrive in Gran Canaria in the coming days to join the team coached by Néstor García.
