The Chicago Bulls have lost one of the more closely watched names in their front-office search. According to ESPN, Austin Brown has elected not to pursue the franchise’s head of basketball operations position. The development comes as Chicago has already started its first round of interviews with candidates this week.
Brown had been listed among the profiles the Bulls were expected to consider in the early stage of the process. Reuters, citing ESPN, had previously reported that Chicago received permission to interview several NBA executives and that Brown was also part of the expected candidate pool.
The search is taking place during a major organizational reset for the franchise. In recent days, the Bulls have gone through significant changes after a 31-51 season and following Billy Donovan’s departure from the head coaching role.
