The San Antonio Spurs are facing a major injury concern after Victor Wembanyama suffered a concussion during Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the Portland Trail Blazers. San Antonio lost 106-103, allowing Portland to even the series at 1-1.

Wembanyama played only 12 minutes before being ruled out and placed into the NBA concussion protocol. Spurs coach Mitch Johnson said the team would follow the proper medical steps. Under NBA guidelines, a player cannot return to full participation for 48 hours after the injury and may resume gradual activity after 24 hours only if symptoms do not worsen.
The play happened with 8:57 left in the second quarter, when Wembanyama drove to the basket with Jrue Holiday defending and landed chin-first on the floor. He later went to the locker room and did not return. Before exiting, he had 5 points and 4 rebounds. Game 3 is scheduled for Friday in Portland, where the Spurs hope to have more clarity on their franchise star.
