The NBA has finalized the tiebreaking process for the 2026 Draft, most notably resolving the tie between the Utah Jazz and Sacramento Kings. Utah won the drawing and will now hold the fourth-best lottery odds, while Sacramento will have the fifth-best odds.
It is a major outcome for the Jazz, because it guarantees they cannot fall outside the top eight in the lottery, meaning they will keep their top-eight protected first-round pick instead of sending it to the Oklahoma City Thunder if it had landed ninth.
According to the reported breakdown, both Utah and Sacramento still own a 45.2% chance of jumping into the top four and an 11.5% chance of winning the No. 1 pick. The NBA Draft Lottery will be held on May 10 in Chicago, while the draft itself is scheduled for June 23 and 24 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
