According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, if Kerr leaves, the franchise is expected to widen its search for a new head coach.
The Warriors could consider external candidates and may even look at the college ranks.
At the same time, there is said to be internal awareness of the risk of handing Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler an inexperienced coach in the final stage of their championship window.
Kerr’s departure, however, might not affect only the bench.
