Hapoel Tel Aviv is reportedly in talks with Chris Jones over a new contract. According to Israel Hayom, the Israeli club has already started discussions with the player in order to extend his current deal and keep him with the team for the coming seasons.
The club’s plan is to remain competitive in the EuroLeague over the next few years, with Jones seen as one of the core pieces of the roster. The American guard is considered an important pillar of the team’s long-term project.
This season in the EuroLeague, Jones has averaged 9.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 0.9 steals and an 11.1 PIR in 37 games, while playing just under 20 minutes per contest. Those numbers help explain why Hapoel wants to keep him in the lineup.
