Aleksander Sekulic is close to becoming the new head coach of Dubai Basketball. According to BasketNews, the club is finalizing an agreement with the Slovenia national team coach, who has worked closely with Luka Doncic for several years.
The reported agreement would run through the end of the 2025-26 season, while allowing Dubai to keep its options open for a longer-term decision in the summer. Sekulic would step in as the successor to Jurica Golemac during a key stretch of the season.
Dubai is still fighting for a place in the EuroLeague play-in. To get there, the club would need a win over Valencia Basket in the final round and also a Barcelona loss to Bayern Munich. For Sekulic, it would mark a return to club basketball after previous VTB League experiences with Zenit and Lokomotiv.
